TREE SURGEONS LOCAL TO TORBAY
We are your local tree surgeons in Torquay specialising in large tree removal as well as providing a range of tree surgery services, including tree pruning and tree stump removal.

Set up and run by Daniel, The Tree Man tree surgeons have more than 30 years combined service in the industry and in that time we have built up a strong reputation for delivering high quality work, excellent customer care and a strict adherence to health and safety standards. We like to think we offer the personalised customer care of a small business, with the knowledge, skills and expertise to specialise in the big jobs.

We operate two teams and whilst much of our work is in the Torbay, Teignbridge and Exeter areas we do also travel further afield.
Daniel is a passionate tree surgeon and unlike most of our competitors, where the owner or manager might quote for the job, but not actually be present on the day, Daniel will always perform or closely oversee every job we undertake ensuring it is completed to a high standard. Contact us or book online for your free, no obligation tree removal quote today.
We have 100% quote accuracy, meaning the price we quote is the price you pay.

TREE SURGERY FAQs
-
Do you charge for quotes?
No, our tree surgery quotes are always free of charge. -
What qualifications do you have?
Our tree surgeons are fully trained and hold the required National Proficiency Test Council (NPTC) certificates. -
Are you insured?
Yes, we hold £5 million public liability and £10 million employer’s liability insurance. -
Do I need permission to carry out tree works to my tree?
If the tree is within a conservation area or has a tree preservation order on it, then you will need to apply to your local council before undertaking any tree works. You can read more about how to find out if your tree is protected here. -
Do you handle council applications?
Yes, we are happy to handle council applications. We charge a fee for this, however this is then deducted from the final cost of the job once it is complete. -
Is tree waste removal included in the quote?
Yes, all our quotes include tree waste removal unless agreed otherwise at quotation. -
Can I request to keep the wood? How will you leave it? Will it be stacked?
We will happily leave you the wood for logging if asked to. We will endeavour to cut the logs into in large chunks for you to handle, they will be stacked near to where the tree was dismantled. If you would like to us to log and stack them this can also be arrange at an additional cost. -
You are removing the tree, will you also be removing the stump?
Unless specified otherwise, the tree will be removed to ground level, leaving you with a stump. We can grind the stump for an additional fee, please ask us at quotation. If you are thinking about having stump grinding, we would recommend doing it at the same time as the tree removal, this will always be the cheapest option, rather than having a separate call out for stump removal at a later date. -
I don’t have side / direct access to the tree, will it be possible for you to work on my tree?
Where there is no alternative access other than through a property, we will process the debris into small enough bundles to be carried through the home. We take care to ensure your home is protected. We use dust sheets to protect the floors from door to door. We respect our customers’ property and are very experienced at removing tree branches or debris whilst avoiding damage and limiting disruption. We take great care to ensure that we leave your property as tidy as we found it. -
I don’t have a driveway, is this a problem?
We often carry out jobs where there is no driveway, however we will need guaranteed parking outside the property for our truck and chipper. -
Do I need to be in when you carry out the work?
As long as there is parking and clear access to the tree (without needing access to your home) then there is no need for you to be in. -
How long will I have to wait for you to carry out the tree work?
We will always try to get work booked in as soon as possible. At certain times of the year there are factors which can cause delays; the winter months October to February are our busiest time and poor weather conditions can cause delays. If you need permission from the Council it could mean you have to wait up to 8 weeks (where TPOs are concerned, 8 weeks is a target, not a guaranteed deadline). -
How can I pay you?
We accept bank transfer or cash
